So, I rarely post reviews about the places I go to unless I find a hole in the wall or hidden gem.. I've seen this place and always drive by it and boy am I glad I finally decided to stop by. It wasn't super busy but that only made it better because Chris ( The Sushi Chef ) gave me a whole different sushi experience. From my experience, I've only seen this on T.V. I didn't know what to expect in the beginning but wow, not only did he gave me a different perspective of fish I usually don't order (maily due to quality) but I cannot say the same thing about the quality of his selection. He kept bringing different cuts of fish I wasn't aware had soooo much flavor compared to most, if any, I tried. This doesn't even come close to his vibe and personality... definitely made me feel out of Vegas for a bit with amazing service. If you're lucky enough like I was catching him on a slower day is a must! Definitely will be back!!

Ono Sushi is a solid AYCE spot; Southeast of the Strip, about a fifteen minute drive. I came here for a quick solo lunch, was the first one to arrive and get seated when it opened. A few other patrons started trickling in. All of them looked like local professionals on their respective lunch breaks. I don't think there were any tourists. Medium size venue with a decent amount of seating with plenty of parking available in the plaza. I didn't realize I've actually been here before...forgot to write a review. The menu has changed a bit. I don't see s few item I got the last time I was here. Looks like they were minimally staffed. There was a lady running the front, taking orders a cleaning tables...superstar efficiency kind of stuff. I only saw one chef making all the sushi and I heard there were another one or two people in the back. Everything came out in a timely manor, good presentation and food was good. No issues! I was impressed... #AYCE: ~ Idako Karaage (Baby Octopus) - 3.5/5 ~ Geso Karaage (Squid Legs) - 3.5/5 ~ Pork Belly - 5/5 ~ Sashimi Appetizer (Chef Choice) - 4/5 ~ Oyster - 4/5 ~ Poke Tacos - 4/5 ~ Kaki Fry (Fried Oyster) - 4/5 ~ Shrimp Skewer - 4/5 ~ Salmon Belly - 4/5 ~ Ocean Trout - 4/5 ~ Amaebi - 4/5 ~ Uni - 4/5 ~ Unagi - 4/5 ~ Nigiri - 4/5 - Ikura - 4/5 - Ono - 4/5 - Red Snapper - 4/5 ~ Lychee sorbet - 4/5 Previous visit: (2019) ~ Seasoned Brussle Sprouts - 4/5 ~ Green Tea Pannacotta - 4/5 ~ Red Bean Ice Cream - 4/5 This place definitely has a more local vibe to it. No issues coming back...

My son and I went here recently to try a new sushi spot after Daisho stopped AYCE which had been our go to spot for 8 years. Aside from being a small restaurant with really weird, awkward seating the food here was fantastic. Our service on the other hand was pretty lack luster. After getting sat we probably waited around 20ish minutes before our drink order even got taken or we even got menus. Once things started rolling though and our order got taken things we're great and food came out quickly and was very good. I really wish the seating here was alot better (booths vs. small table and chair) but it won't prevent me from coming back.

Had a delicious happy hour experience with my pal. I had monkey ball, pork belly, seared salmon nigiri, yellowtail yuzu, salmon kama and bacon wrapped scallops. Everything arrived hot and the fish was fresh. I love my local AYCE restaurants and Ono is one of my favorites!

Visiting from Reno. This place was pleasantly empty on the eve before Thanksgiving. The decor/atmosphere is somewhere in between a counter service restaurant and an upscale restaurant. The sushi bar itself is very minimal and barely could be called that. It features very limited seating with a very narrow countertop split to just a couple seats split between sitting in front of each of the two refrigerators. The service was friendly and very prompt for AYCE but our party of 4 and a party of 6 were the only ones in the place so YMMV. The menu is LARGE and varied. Excellent roll menu even though I only eat nigiri. Large appetizer menu with menu choices including pork belly. Fish quality was what I term 'standard' which is typical of all well-rated AYCE places. Nothing spectacular like you would get at a place 3 times the price of course. But you can get one order or one piece of several high-end choices most AYCE places I've been to don't even offer like Uni, Sweet Shrimp, and a few others. Rice is seasoned well. A lot of AYCE places overseason like the AYCE buggets oversalt or add MSG. They do normal seasoning. The cuts of fish on the Nigiri were thin, narrow, and long so they draped onto the serving plate. So average amount of fish since even though it was very thin it was longer than normal. Not quite as satisfying of a bite as with a more typical thicker and wider cut but shorter (for me at least) but still very good. Price is typical (low $30's for dinner) and of course a lot better deal than eating on the strip. I can see how it gets 5 stars as you can't do much better for an AYCE place. They could use a bit of a refresh/upgrade of the interior decor though. This would only be a special occasion dining destination if the guest of honor doesn't care about having an upscale atmosphere. I'm tempted to knock a star off for the low-end atmosphere but frankly for an AYCE Strip Mall joint it's just fine. The huge menu selection makes up for it.
